Bircher muesli – simply homemade

Bircher muesli is a popular classic and an energy-rich breakfast. You can find the recipe for a healthy and fruity Bircher muesli here.

The recipe is suitable for four people and is the ideal breakfast for the whole family. The fiber keeps you full for a long time and is light on the stomach. Natural yoghurt, low-fat quark and  milk  also provide the body with protein and important  potassium  and calcium. The fruits provide a fresh and healthy effect.

Ingredients for a fruity Bircher muesli

Fruit and berries can be varied according to taste and season:

  • 30 grams of almonds
  • 20 g raisins
  • 250 g yoghurt (natural)
  • 200 g low-fat quark
  • 150ml milk
  • 2  tablespoons honey , agave syrup or maple syrup
  • 1 apple
  • 2 bananas
  • 50 grams of blueberries
  • 100 g tender oat flakes
  • 1 to 2 tsp lemon or lime juice
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

preparation steps

In 20 minutes to a delicious breakfast:

  1. Mix the oatmeal and milk and leave to soak for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, toast the almonds in a hot pan until lightly colored and fragrant, then allow to cool.
  3. Wash the apple, quarter, core and grate with a grater.
  4. Mix the apple with the quark, yoghurt, honey, lemon juice, raisins, berries and the oatmeal-milk mixture.
