At the end of 2019, a previously unknown virus was discovered for the first time, which belongs to the corona virus family and was given the name SASR-CoV-2 a short time later. The virus is highly contagious, affects the respiratory tract and can  cause pneumonia there, among other things  . The disease caused by the virus is called  COVID-19 .
