Delicious refreshment: green iced tea with mango and nectarines

On hot summer days, it is important to drink plenty of fluids to maintain the body’s water balance. In addition to sufficient water, cold tea drinks are also recommended. The iced tea tastes particularly good when you make it yourself and is not a hidden calorie bomb. Here’s the recipe.

The preparation takes about ten minutes. The  iced tea  will keep in the fridge for two days.

ingredients

For 1.5 liters of iced tea you need:

  • 1.5 liters of water
  • 4 bags of green tea
  • 1 Nectarines
  • ½ Mango
  • lemon
  • mint
  • ½ lemon sliced

The delicious iced tea is quickly prepared in four simple steps:

  1. Boil water to 80 degrees, pour over the tea and let it steep for five minutes, then remove the tea bags.
  2. Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature, pour into a carafe or a larger container.
  3. Wash the nectarine, peel the mango and dice both, then squeeze the lemon.
  4. Add the fruit and lemon juice to the cooled tea. Put ice cubes in a glass and pour in the tea. Add lemon slices or mint if needed.

Tip:  Green tea should steep at around 80 degrees to maintain the healthy effect of the catechins it contains. These counteract oxidative stress in the body.
