Microdermabrasion exfoliation

Our skin is stressed every day. Wind and  weather , intensive UV radiation and, last but not least, frequent contact with water and washing substances or cosmetics can strain the skin and the natural skin barrier. The skin structure can be improved with microdermabrasion, a mechanical peeling method. Especially for stressed skin, acne or scars, a treatment with the microdermabrasion method can gently and selectively lead to a fresh and clear complexion.

Microdermabrasion – what is it?

Currently, the phenomenon of microdermabrasion is being heard and read more and more often in cosmetics and dermatology. But what exactly is behind it? Microdermabrasion consists of micro – small, derma – skin and brasion – grinding. Basically, the term small skin abrasion hides behind it. With the help of microdermabrasion, the uppermost cell layers of the skin are removed mechanically using fine crystals. This is to be imagined according to the sandblasting principle. Dead skin cells can be removed completely painlessly. The lymph flow is also activated.

In the case of microdermabrasion, the skin to be treated is first analyzed. Questions about sensitivity and the structure of the skin are clarified. The skin is then gently cleansed in preparation. In the next step, the skin is again intensively cleaned with special products, the skin surface is degreased. Now the microdermabrasion is performed. A post-cleansing session follows, after which care products and special cosmetics can be applied to the skin.

With the help of microdermabrasion, the regeneration of the cells in our skin can be stimulated. The microcirculation of the cells can also be increased, which ultimately also promotes the restoration of an intact horny layer. When using microdermabrasion, the  active ingredients applied to the skin can  have a much more intensive effect, which means that cell formation can be normalized and the entire cell matrix can benefit from this type of  peeling  . Since the formation of elastane can also be stimulated, our skin appears firm and fresh. The best thing about it: the result is immediately visible.

Gentle and controllable removal of the skin

In contrast to many other methods of skin abrasion, the removal of the skin using microdermabrasion can be regulated and therefore also controlled. This means that layers of skin are not simply removed, but the extent of the removal is regulated by the number of treatments and the intensity of the removal. No further cornifications are caused, on the contrary. The skin’s sebum production can normalize again, so that even impure and  oily skin  can be permanently improved.

Microdermabrasion is particularly beneficial for people who have been suffering from acne or acne scars for many years. This method is also suitable for  dry skinstretch  marks and cellulite, large-pored skin and scars. Microdermabrasion is also popular for use in anti-aging treatments. By the way, a microdermabrasion treatment can not only be carried out on the face, but on the entire body. Depending on the skin type and complexion, an ultrasound treatment is recommended after the microdermabrasion.

A microdermabrasion should be repeated at regular intervals so that effective and, above all, permanent results can be achieved. Depending on the skin, microdermabrasion is performed either once a week and then every 14 days, or as a treatment several times a week.

Care at home is also very important. Under no circumstances should greasy products be used for care, as these cosmetics would promote keratinization of the skin. Instead, products that provide moisture are recommended. In addition, the skin should be protected from intense sunlight after treatment with microdermabrasion.
