Report: Coalition partially responds to country concerns with new corona rules
Exceptions to the mask requirement should not be mandatory

According to a report, the federal government made concessions in the dispute with the federal states over the new corona rules for autumn. According to information from the editorial network on Wednesday, this is about the original plan that the mask requirement indoors should be eliminated for people who are fully vaccinated and whose last vaccination was less than three months ago.

According to the RND, citing coalition circles, the countries do not necessarily have to implement this regulation, it will be converted into an “optional” regulation. The “can” exception should therefore also apply to people who have recovered. There should still only be a mandatory exception to the mask requirement if the person has just been tested.

With the changes to the template, the traffic light coalition apparently responded to the demands of many federal states. However, the coalition did not fulfill the request of the federal states to anchor specific parameters for the entry into force of certain protection concepts in the Infection Protection Act, as the RND reported.

The federal cabinet wants to lay the foundations for the corona protection measures in autumn on Wednesday. The ministerial round is to decide on a formulation aid from the SPD-led Federal Ministry of Health and the FDP-led Federal Ministry of Justice, on the basis of which the coalition factions in the Bundestag are to draw up a draft law. They are under time pressure because the regulations that have been in force until now expire at the end of September.
