Spahn: “Too many who will soon fight for their lives”

Health Minister Jens Spahn and the President of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) Lothar Wieler will provide information on the current corona situation this Friday. The burden on hospitals continues to be a major topic of conversation. Increasing numbers of cases are also a cause for concern, and the Minister of Health is not ruling out another lockdown. However, the vaccination progress and the possibility of rapid tests give hope. There are also freedoms for fully vaccinated people.

Social distancing and distances must still be observed due to increasing numbers, and a lockdown cannot be ruled out.

Rising numbers – is another lockdown imminent?

“25,000 new corona infections, that’s too many, to put it bluntly,” warns Jens Spahn. In this context, the Minister of Health points out that the health system is overburdened and continues to appeal to citizens to keep their distances, reduce social contacts and limit trips or trips – the infection usually occurs in the private sphere.

In this context, Spahn does not rule out another lockdown in order to reduce the numbers confidently and in the long term. Fighting the  pandemic  is a priority.

Corona Vaccination: Privileges and Freedoms for Fully Vaccinated Individuals

Vaccination progress: With the start of vaccinations in medical practices and further deliveries of the  corona vaccines  , around 14.7 percent of Germans have received an initial vaccination as of today.

Due to the low risk of infection, fully vaccinated people should be put on an equal footing with people who tested negative. The obligation to test when traveling, virus variant areas excluded, is no longer applicable. Likewise, the quarantine obligation after contact with infected people.

RKI boss Wieler also emphasizes waiting for the effect of the vaccinations, continuing to comply with AHA rules and social distancing and carrying out a rapid test or PCR test in the event of flu symptoms.
