Spanish Prime Minister tests positive for coronavirus

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez says he tested positive for the  corona virus on Sunday  . In the short message service Twitter, the socialist stated that he would “continue to work under extreme precautionary measures”. He canceled his planned participation in an event in Catalonia on Sunday. Sánchez had only returned two days ago from New York, where he had taken part in several meetings as part of the UN general debate.

Sánchez has not yet commented on whether he will make appointments in the coming days. On Friday, the prime minister is to receive eight heads of state and government from southern European Union countries in the port city of Alicante.
